Tec-Works, Inc. offers network engineering support
services and products aimed at helping businesses
select, integrate and service the myriad of networking
products and technologies available to improve
their data networks. Tec-Works network engineering
services are available on an as needed basis at
an hourly rate, or through a monthly service plan
so you can improve your network efficiency and
reliability, allowing you to focus on your core
business and customers.
Tec-Works Network Service Options-
Tec-Works Network Service Plans allows businesses
to select only the network engineering services,
which are of value to them. As most businesses
have differing network support needs, a custom
Tec-Works Network Services Plan ensures you select
and pay only for the value added services that
you require.
Under a Tec-Works Network Services Plan clients
are billed per occurrence, per time and materials,
or at monthly rate for the specific services to
which they subscribe. Under a subscribed service
plan, service time is provided free of charge
up to the number of hours defined for each of
the subscribed services. Service time required
beyond this limit is billed at a discounted hourly
rate, which varies by service and volume. Subscription
rates are based on estimated work required per
month minus a service plan discount. (See “Service
Descriptions” for details.)
The minimum initial term for service plans is
6 months. Subscriptions automatically renew monthly,
though pricing is subject to change unless contracted
otherwise. Service subscriptions can be changed
or cancelled at any time by notice in writing.
Labor and consulting services provided outside
the scope of a subscribed service plan are billed
at discounted hourly rates to customers with a
current service contract. Customers may purchase
additional hours at contract start for additional
savings over the normal rate. These hours will
be utilized when service is required beyond the
number of included hours for subscribed services,
or may be used for services not included in the
initial scope of services.

NOS Updates for Network Devices-
Network device manufacturers release regular fixes
to their Network Operating Systems (NOS). These
updates often contain critical security fixes
or address stability and performance issues. Our
NOS Updates for Network Devices service is centered
in identifying necessary updates for routers,
switches, firewalls and other network devices
and notifying Customers of the relevance to their
network. Our service ensures Customers network
appliances are kept up to date and critical fixes
are applied quickly, safely and securely to minimize
security risks and ensure peak network performance.
Network Access Management-
Data networks utilize access lists to keep track
of who is authorized to access resources and change
network device configurations. User access lists
must be managed to reflect changes in Customers
staff and ensure security of Customers network.
Our Network Access Management service provides
assistance with access policy creation, access
list auditing and access list maintenance, including
creating new accounts with appropriate access
privileges, fixing bad passwords, and removing
old users.
Network Performance Auditing-
Network performance can be hindered by many factors.
Customers considering upgrading network devices
to improve data transport performance, should
consider this service to help identify weaknesses
or problems in their current network that may
limit the effectiveness of planned improvements.
Potential problems can include: bad switch ports,
deteriorated cabling, poorly installed or configured
infrastructure components, low device memory or
even underpowered devices. The Network Performance
Auditing service can be provided as a one-time
audit and report, or as a periodic check-up.

Helpdesk
Our Helpdesk service provides a one-stop resource
for resolving network and network device issues.
Help desk topics include assistance for basic
network device configuration, ACL policy, NOS
update information and general networking issues
resolution.
Network Hardware Configuration-
Our network hardware configuration service ensures
Customers newly purchased or existing network
devices are configured properly, securely and
in the manner best suited to their specific network
requirements. Configuration services are available
for routers and switches, as well as VPNs and
Firewalls.
Trusted Advisor Service for Network Technologies
and Solutions
General Consulting-
Inevitably Customers encounter issues which cannot
be resolved by internal staff or with off the
shelf solutions. General Consulting services are
available to help resolve issues beyond the scope
of Customers staffs experience and expertise.
Our goal is to align Customers technology needs
within their business and financial constraints.
We can help Customers resolve a single issue,
or assist in the design of a comprehensive solution
for broader network issues or facilities expansion.
Security Analysis for Networks-
There are many ways networks can be vulnerable
to attack from outside the Customers network.
Our Security Analysis for Networks service checks
Customers network to detect for known weaknesses,
and identifies actions necessary to resolve them.
We can also assist in defining a network security
policy that takes into account the way your employees
and customers use your business network.
